Timo Werner sees similarities between Karim Benzema and Roberto Firmino
Timo Werner believes that there are real similarities between Roberto Firmino and Karim Benzema. The Chelsea man clearly notes the attackers.
There is a lot of talk about Karim Benzema these days. The Real Madrid forward returns from the tournament for France this week, having been absent from the squad for years.
The world champions basically found a way to improve quite easily – to bring in one of the best strikers in the world. Now people are talking about Benzema, with great things to say.
José Mourinho told TalkSport how well he values Benzema, for example.
“Gradually he was an incredible player,” said Mourinho. “We’re talking about Harry [Kane] for example and look at Karim and a lot of similar qualities.

“He’s the kind of forward who, if he doesn’t score a lot of goals, still plays so well for the team. Karim is a fantastic player.
And now Timo Werner, who will face Benzema on Tuesday, has spoken to him as well. But it was not to Harry Kane that he compared the Real Madrid icon, it was to Roberto Firmino.
“For me, [Benzema] is amazing with the ball, the way he dribbles, the way he moves, the way he finishes, ”he said, by objective.
“I think he’s like Roberto Firmino at Liverpool, picking up the ball early, distributing and still quick with his qualities in the penalty area.
“With Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo, [Benzema] form the top three center-forward for me.
Timo Werner praises Roberto Firmino
Firmino hasn’t had his best season in 2020/21, so it’s nice to see another striker drop him. We still firmly view the Brazilian as one of the best in the world, after all.
Firmino and Benzema are probably the two best examples of altruistic strikers who help lead the team, in fact. The Frenchman has demonstrated this at the highest level for longer, of course, but we can’t say that we would trade Firmino.
This type of attacker is rare to find but greatly improves a team. Finding the right player to replace Firmino is one of the most difficult tasks Liverpool face, and Real face the same with Benzema.
