Hyderabad: Journalism based on Varadachary’s values hailed

Hyderabad: Government adviser KV Ramanachari said on Sunday that honoring the greatness, sacredness and individuality of a person during their lifetime will increase the lifespan.
He was speaking at a program, Jeevan Safalya Abhinandana Sabha, organized by the Vayodhika Patrikeya Sangham to honor veteran journalist Goverdhanam Sundara Varadachary here at the Press Club. Guests, including senior journalists, published a book “Parinata Patrikeyam” written by Varadachary. Ramanachari said about 15 to 16 people shared their views showing their relationship with Varadachary.
“Early in the morning, I saw articles in editorial pages of newspapers (Andhra Jyothi, Sakshi, Namasthe Telangana). After seeing the articles, I understood that it was an honest tribute to a person during their lifetime. When a human being is alive, praising their personality, greatness, sacredness and individuality will increase their life,” he observed.
Telangana Press Academy President Allam Narayana hailed Varadachary’s values-based journalism. He said the veteran started his career as a journalist in Nizamabad when there was none.
The values that prevailed then are still followed today. He is a role model for journalists today. He has trained many journalists during his career, Narayana said. There are 30,000 journalists in two Telugu states; many are untrained. The press academy is responsible for training journalists, he added.
Veteran journalists K Srinivas, MVR Shastry, Udayavarlu, K Lakshmana Rao, D Keshava Rao and others were present.
