Aaron Rodgers trade rumours: Here’s how much the Steelers, Broncos and Titans could benefit from adding QB

The main reason Aaron Rodgers hasn’t made a decision about his future yet is because he’s apparently torn about what he wants to do. The Packers quarterback basically has three options on the table for 2022 and those options are: return to Green Bay, retire or demand a trade.

If Rodgers decides to go with Option 3, it looks like he already has his sights set on three teams for a possible trade. According to Pro Football Talk, the four-time MVP is eyeing the Broncos, Titans and Steelers.

All three teams would instantly improve by adding Rodgers, but in different ways, according to projections for the 2022 season from data scientist Stephen Oh, who calculates the numbers for SportsLine.

According to Oh’s numbers, the team that would benefit the most in the win column by trading for Rodgers would be the Denver Broncos. Without Rodgers, the Broncos should only win seven games this year. However, if they make a trade for Rodgers, then that projection shoots up to nine wins, which could put the Broncos squarely in contention for the AFC playoffs. As for the Steelers, their total would increase by 1.6 wins with Rodgers (8.9 to 10.5) while the Titans’ total would increase by just 0.7 wins (10.3 to 11.0).

The reason the Titans’ total is lower is because the other two teams have a much higher quarterback need. That being said, the Titans would still be smart to try to make a deal for Rodgers and that’s because their chances of winning the Super Bowl would skyrocket. According to Oh’s numbers, the Titans would have a 13.3% chance of winning the Super Bowl with Rodgers in the fold, but only a 3.1% chance without him. That’s an incredible 10.2% increase.

As for the Broncos, their chances of winning the Super Bowl would only increase by 1% (0.2% to 1.2%) while the Steelers’ chances would increase by 3.6% (0.9% without Rodgers at 4 .5% with him). Basically, what the numbers tell us is that the Titans are a Super Bowl-ready team that only needs a top-tier quarterback to put them over the top.

For the Steelers, the addition of Rodgers would increase their chances of qualifying for the playoffs from 35.7% to 70.4%, a jump from 34.7%. The Titans’ playoff odds would only go up 14.2% — as they’re already expected to make the playoffs without Rodgers — and the Broncos’ playoff chances would improve by 33.1% .

If the Steelers were to add Rodgers, their chances of winning the AFC North would almost triple, from 12.6% to 35.5%.

If you’re wondering how hurt the Packers will be if they lose Rodgers, the answer is a lot. When you lose a player who has won back-to-back MVP awards, your team is going to suffer, and Green Bay does. According to Oh, the Packers’ projected win total would drop from 10.6 with Rodgers to 7.7 without him. Their chances of winning the Super Bowl would drop from 9.2% to 0.6%.

Also, even though the Packers are playing in a division they’ve dominated for the past three years, Oh predicts the dominance would be over if Rodgers left. The Packers have a 69.6% chance of winning the NFC North with Rodgers, but that drops to 24.5% without him.

Few players can swing a throw like this, but Rodgers isn’t just any player. He’s a four-time NFL MVP and will turn his next team into an instant Super Bowl contender. If he stays in Green Bay, he will be the strong favorite to win the NFC North and return to the NFC Championship for the third time. in four years.
